Wild crashing waves stir up the waters of the North Sea hurtling gigantic blocks of glacial ice in a frenzy of chaotic movement. Trying to capture these fleeting forms was a challenge both fraught with danger and excitement allowing me to completely immerse myself in the moment while ignoring the cold, wet drenching I was experiencing in the moment. When the sun rose high enough the light diffused into a gloomy grey and the brief magic of the rising sun was over. Soaking wet and pumped with adrenaline I sauntered back to the campervan and wrung out my clothes and hung things to dry on a makeshift clothesline. A warm cup of tea and shelter from the persistent winds was like a big hug and I crawled under the covers to catch some sleep before embarking of the next arctic adventure.
