Curtains of cool misty fog settled in and lifted away continuously on this damp day in the coastal redwood forests of Northern California. I was walking a well known trail searching for some stately trees and blooming rhododendron. When I came upon this scene, the energy of this stand of trees really felt powerful. Using the giant ferns as a foreground element, I was able to capture the depth of this ancient sactuary.
