In a dazed fit suffering from severe allergies, I ventured out to photograph what I would refer to as a super bloom of flowers at Lost Dutchman State Park in Arizona. My memories of this hike at sunset are somewhat scattered as I was completely overwhelmed by the cacophony of pollen emitted by the flowers making focusing the camera real challenge. Once I found my composition, I waited for the final light which from this vantage point is unobstructed from any mountains allowing the deep crimson colors to paint the landscape. Brittlebush flowers had just exploded this particular year and this single capture on my large format film will stand as a record of the event for many to cherish.
