St. John, USVI
Traveling to St. John in 2013 was a long-awaited return as I had snorkeled the crystal-clear water once as child with still bright memories over 30 years past. While traversing the small island we stuck mainly to the lush green North shore much of which lies within Virgin Islands National Park. At a scenic lookout I followed a rough path through the jungle and made my way into this beautiful cove, which contained the warn remains of this old jetty. Immediately I recognized the potential of this location and returned at sunrise. I set of my field camera and balanced the composition of the brilliant azure waters with the shadowed distant shores of Tortola and Jost Van Dyke.
