This morning brought an unexpected transformation to the landscape. The leaves of autumn had just dropped and the scenery was reduced to browns and muted colors. With the arrival of snow I decided to head out onto a favorite local hike in the Val area to visit some of my favorite aspen trees. Light can be elusive and this day brought such a unique quality it would seem impossible to replicate. Every branch, leaf and needle seemed to have been kissed by the snow.
