Spending the night in a protected seabird colony is certainly not a restful endeavor. As a photographer however, I would give up days of rest for a sky so brilliant as this one that I captured on such an outing. For most of the day the light was diffused and even murky at times. It wasn't until the moments before sunset that the sun slipped beneath the veil of clouds and illuminated a scene straight out of a fairytale.
